Rich has been practicing Physical Therapy since earning his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 1998. In August 2004, Rich completed his Transitional Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Rich is recognized by NAIOMT as a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT). He is also recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (AABPTS) as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). Rich has been certified by the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) as an athletic trainer since 1995. Rich has been instructing in the IAMT, www.IAMT.org, curriculum since 2012. He has played a significant role in developing the IAMT dry needling curriculum. Prior to attending Shenandoah University, Rich received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine from Marietta College. His degrees in sports medicine and physical therapy allow him to work with several professional and amateur athletes from the Washington Commanders, professional golfers, collegiate athletics, Olympians, and several local high school athletic teams.
Rich has served as clinic director for 17 years before starting his own private physical therapy practice, Infinity Performance Therapy, in 2021.
He has served as a primary author of multiple articles for The Spinal Research Foundation, www.spinerf.org, and is currently an adjunct professor for Shenandoah University. In 2012, Rich received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Shenandoah University to honor his significant accomplishments in the profession of physical therapy. Rich’s commitment to quality is evidenced by combining trigger point dry needling, manual therapy and evidence based exercise to achieve the best outcomes for his patients. He understands that each patient is unique and therefore deserves a treatment plan that is specific to their needs.
Katie is a Virginia native who graduated with honors from James Madison University in Exercise Science, then went on to simultaneously earn her Master’s in Athletic Training and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Upon graduation, she worked as an outpatient orthopedic therapist while covering rugby events as the on site Athletic Trainer throughout the Northern Virginia region on the weekends.
After a handful of years in the clinic, she left to pursue her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Now, Katie has returned to Northern Virginia and works full time as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University. Katie predominantly teaches gross human anatomy to physical therapy and physician assistant students, while also functioning as a research advisor. She loves being able to work in the clinic where she can marry her love of anatomy with patient interaction.
Katie’s true passions are educating future health care providers and patients alike, and validating patient’s concerns while empowering them to take an active role in their recovery. When Katie isn’t working, you can find her in the water somewhere or snuggling with her two miniature dachshunds, Leonardo (Leo) and Dante.
With over 21 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist, Jennifer demonstrates a passion for bringing growth to the OT and Hand Therapy professions. Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and completed a hand fellowship with the University of Virginia. Jennifer specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, custom splinting/orthotics, and post-operative rehabilitation.
In addition to her clinical work, Jennifer has served as an outpatient hand therapy network coordinator with the Curtis Hand Center ensuring patients receive high quality services. Jennifer worked with a Northern Virginia orthopedic practice to grow and expand practice locations while developing and revising post-operative rehabilitation protocols. As a level 2 clinical educator for occupational therapy students, Jennifer strives to teach and mentor the next generation of therapists.
She continues to serve as a coordinator for corporate wellness programs with several businesses in the Virginia area. When Jennifer isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her two children, exercising, and watching sports. Fun facts - Jen played rugby in college and just completed her Level II wine tasting certification!
Elsa completed her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Shenandoah University. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Elsa competed on Buffalo's track and field team, running the 100-meter hurdles and being named to the women’s academic all-MAC team. Following her senior internship at a level 2 cardiac rehab facility, Elsa was offered a job as a Cardiac Rehab Specialist, working for a year and gaining valuable patient experience before entering graduate school to become an OT. Elsa’s special interests in the field of occupational therapy include hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, with plans to eventually obtain a certification in Hand Therapy. Elsa is passionate about occupational therapy due to its emphasis on treating each patient as a true individual, helping them do what is most important to them personally. Elsa is originally from Fombell, PA, near Pittsburgh. In her free time, Elsa loves to be outdoors, especially when fly fishing. Elsa also enjoys lifting weights, riding horses, cooking, attending concerts, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Courtney has been a physical therapist for over 15
years focusing in outpatient orthopedics. She
graduated with her Master’s in Physical Therapy from
Springfield College and Doctorate from Temple University. As someone who has loved and played sports her whole life, she knew in high school that physical therapy was her calling. As a collegiate
athlete herself, she saw first hand just how important
physical therapy could be to returning athletes to the
sports they love without pain. She also has a special
interest working with high school athletes and is
passionate about injury prevention and has been
certified in ACL prevention by Cincinnati Sportsmetrics.
Over the course of her 15 years in the field, she has taken numerous courses to advance her manual skills to further help her patients. One specific area of interest is in Integrative Manual Therapy. This focuses on addressing tension and compression of nerves and
arteries as well as organs, to fully address orthopedic
conditions especially in patients with chronic pain and
nerve injuries. She has also spent the last 13 years
treating a variety of post-operative patients from knee
and hip replacements, to ACL and rotator cuff repairs
and other various sports injuries. She loves the variety
of patients in the outpatient setting and is always
striving to learn new techniques to help her patients.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 young children and loves to exercise and play sports with her kids.
Carey has been in PT practice since she graduted from Shenandoah University in 1998. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics for the majority of her career until 2015 when she completed her Health Coach Certification and started her company Centered Nutrition and Wellness. Her motto is food is medicine and combines her knowledge of nutrition and physical therapy into every patient that she treats. Carey earned her Dry Needling Certification in 2012 and is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS). Carey enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is an avid exerciser, loves golf and yoga. She is a Graduate of Richmond University and was a former gymnast turned diver in college.
Matt completed his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University. He is also a Board Certified Pedorthist, specializing in custom foot orthoses. He completed training for this specialty at Temple School of Podiatric Medicine. Matt is currently recognized as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with the American Physical Therapy Association. Early in his career, he obtained a certification from the McKenzie Institute in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the Spine. Matt recently served as an adjunct professor in the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program at DeSales University. He has also taught and given various lectures on topics ranging from fitness and biomechanics to orthopedic injuries. He was a faculty member of the St. Luke’s University Health Network Orthopedic Residency Program in Bethlehem, PA for 10 years. With over 25 years of experience, he has worked with a variety of patients, ranging from pediatric therapy on horseback to geriatrics as well as athletes of all levels, including professional athletes. Matt played soccer in college and has spent many hours coaching youth soccer, lacrosse, and baseball. He enjoys an active lifestyle that includes running, golfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and playing guitar. He was an alpine patroller/first responder as a member of the National Ski Patrol for 10 years.
Inez completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. While at Shenandoah University, Inez won the Dean’s Award, Highest Cumulative GPA, and Best Seminar Presentation. She was also inducted into the ACAPT National Physical Therapy Student Honor Society for her service, leadership, and strong moral character. Inez grew up locally in Sterling and always enjoyed exploring new running trails. Although she now lives in DC, she continues to live an active lifestyle and enjoys helping her patients return to the activities they love. She is also trained in dry needling, Shockwave and Laser modalities. Inez’s special interests include patients who are runners, post-operative, high school athletes, and post-stroke.
In addition to treating patients, Inez contributes to current evidence-based practice by writing and presenting research articles on topics related to sports injuries and neurological conditions. She will be presenting at the National APTA conference in Boston this upcoming spring for her research titled “A facial nerve palsy clinical decision-making algorithm for referral to physical therapy.”
Inez takes an individualized approach to each of her patients by always keeping their personal goals in mind. In her free time, Inez enjoys trying new restaurants in DC and exploring local farmers markets.
Amanda completed her Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Exercise Science from Liberty University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Lynchburg. While in pursuit of her undergraduate degree, she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and spent several years working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. During her time at the University of Lynchburg, Amanda served as the Vice President of the Community Health Center–a student-run pro bono clinic designed to provide care to uninsured or underinsured members of the Lynchburg community. She also acted as the Vice President of the University of Lynchburg Prosthetics and Orthotics Special Interest Group–a service organization founded to provide free physical therapy to amputees and individuals with congenital limb loss. Amanda is in pursuit of her Pelvic Floor Level 1 certification (to be completed October 2024) and is trained in dry needling, Shockwave, and laser modalities. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, trying new restaurants, and attending sporting events with her husband.
Tim completed his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree from Salisbury University in 2021 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University in 2024. While attending Shenandoah University, Tim was presented the “Outstanding Graduate Award” for his exceptional leadership seen through his altruism, compassion, dedication, and integrity. He was selected by faculty to be a group tutor and has been involved with many service opportunities for the university and community, including the Adaptive Sports Programs, Winchester Rescue Mission, Sinclair Free Medical Clinics, and the Primary Care Project. He now serves as an adjunct professor for Shenandoah University’s DPT Program. Tim is in pursuit of his dry needling certification and is currently trained in laser, shockwave, and blood flow restriction modalities. Tim’s special interests include sports rehab for recreational, high school, college, and elite level athletes.
Tim was the president of his club ice hockey team in college where he played for the national division team. He has 9 years experience as an ocean lifeguard for the Delaware State Beach Patrol. During his time as an ocean lifeguard, he was the head medical personnel on many life threatening and emergency situations. He also competed in lifeguard competitions, with events including swimming, running, paddle boarding, and rescue races at local, regional, and national levels. In his free time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, weightlifting, running, hiking, and exploring new breweries.
Shannon was born and raised in Ashburn, VA. Her personal training and Pilates journey began while recovering from Chronic Lyme Disease. She found that training helped her manage her pain and allow her to feel healthy again after a 5-year battle with the disease. She obtained her Pilates certification through Peak Pilates in 2017, while mentoring under Kathryn Coyle. She earned her NASM-CPT in April 2019 and finished her TRX certification in October 2020. She is very passionate about being “that person” to help others reach their personal fitness goals. When Shannon isn’t with patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, horseback riding, and working out. Shannon has 6 years of experience in Pilates and 4 years of experience in Personal Training.

Hailey is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts (Photography) and her Undergraduate Certificate in Venture Creation. With a strong foundation in sports photography, she has spent several years capturing the excitement of local and professional DC sports teams, including the Washington Wizards (NBA) and Old Glory DC Rugby (MLR). Now, as a Marketing Coordinator for Infinity, Hailey blends her artistic vision with strategic marketing skills.
Outside of work, Hailey enjoys lifting weights, jamming out to music, and spending time with her pug, Frank.
